The key of "C"


Each key has it's own family of chords
Here are the 6 basic chords in the key of C Major.

Each chord is created from the major scale of that key.



You will notice many of the same chords are used in the different keys.
Each chord can also be played in many different positions on the guitar neck.
There is one more chord for each of these keys.
It is called the diminished chord.
We will get to that later.
